Fraudulent Profesional Certification Since 1994
Since it offers “Professional Classes” and a “certified testing program”, the Cleveland Wine School is defined as a Private career school under 3332.01 of the Ohio Revised Code. This school is not authorized to offer instruction, and is therefore in possible violation of Chapter 3332.06 of the Ohio Revised Code:
“No program shall be established, offered, or given for a charge, fee, or other contribution; no certificate, diploma, degree, or other written evidence of proficiency or achievement shall be offered whether in a specified place, by correspondence, or any other means of communication, or awarded; and no student enrollment in such program shall be solicited through advertising, agents, mail circulars, or other means, until the person planning to offer or offering such program, certificate, diploma, or degree has obtained a certificate of registration and appropriate program authorization.”
Under section 3332.091, the State Board of Career Colleges and Schools can fine a violator up to $500 dollars and 90 days in jail. After a public hearing, the board can also close the school, set a fine up to $35,00 and shut the school down.
